So I recently was told I can start cloud editing now. This is great because I'll be away at a trade show this week and don't want to have to carry around a portable server or my computer so it works out!
On my server I'll typically have a 10G connection and my footage but on the go I can't take that all with me. All I will probably have is my laptop or something light that I can carry around with me to edit on the go.
Now I will have to create some proxies of my footage on my local server and send that up to the cloud. After that I'll be able to pull that footage whenever I need to and be able to put those files back in the cloud. Then the colorist or whoever else needs to put some final touches can grab this file and then upload it.
